“When everything seems to be going against you,
remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” ―Henry Ford
In just a couple of weeks we will hit mid-point in the year. As your unofficial accountability partner, I am checking in on how you are doing with your goals?
Right about now, if it hasn’t already, it starts getting hard for a whole host of reasons, including possibly:
- Progress isn’t coming as quickly as your hoped.
- Your supporters either weren’t there or they are falling off.
- You’re questioning your goals.
- Everyone else is doing so much better on their goals than you are.
- Life is busy and you haven’t devoted the time necessary.
- It’s summer…
- Or other reasons.
Yes, times get tough, and I’ll say it again, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
I can pick apart each of the above excuses one-by-one, but instead I’m only going to focus on one of them: “Everyone else is doing so much better on their goals than you are”
Are they? Are they really? Or are they just acting like that or “posting” like they are? Either way, does it matter? This isn’t about them. This isn’t a contest. And comparing yourself to others is one of the quickest ways to kill your goals.
It’s okay to go two steps back and one step forward, as long as you keep going forward because very soon it turns to one step back and two forward, and that turns into three steps forward and so on….Hey if a plane can take off against the wind, you can do this!
If you’ve been following along these posts, you know what I am going to say here as I wrap this up… “Keep Going!” “You Got this!” You already started urning “one day?” into “DAY ONE!” And that is more than a lot of people can say. I’m so proud of you!
